Ride is smooth and we slept well ... and late! ... arrived Vernon 10:30 AM (88 miles from Paris) ... a few locks along the way ... nothing spectacular.
On this cold, wet day the focus today was the small community of Giveny and a guided tour of the nearby Monet Gardens & home. Not having "green-thumbs," we were really/really impressed ... the gardens are kept exactly as they were during Monet's life there ... we felt we were walking through some of his paintings as we enjoyed all the beauty & splendor.
Our excellent guide told stories of Monet's personal life, personality, children, professional acquaintances, marriages & affairs. At times Monet employed as many as 6 gardeners as he pursued gardening as passionately as painting!
Back on the riverboat, our "Music at Sea" (MAS) group held a meet-greet-information gathering ... so good to see Brooks Ahern, London concert pianist, ... this being our fifth MAS cruise ... several others we have shared earlier cruises ... group size ~50 folks.
Happy-Hour & a lovely dinner ... then a 60's Party where Karen & Mel won first place in a competitive comedy dance.
Words fail to deliver the feelings we enjoyed this day.
AmaLegro remained overnight in Vernon.
